Mumps
If your child's complaining of painful, swollen glands around the jaw,
fever, headache and difficulty swallowing, they might have mumps. They
may also complain of a dry mouth and joint pain.
Treating the symptoms
There's no specific treatment for mumps, so it's best to try to treat the
symptoms. A fever-reducing medicine such as CALPOL® Infant Suspension
should tackle the temperature and relieve aches and pains or you could use
CALPROFEN® Ibuprofen
Suspension which gets to work on fever in just 15 minutes and lasts
up to 8 hours. You should also give your child soft food and lots of
fluids, but avoid fruit juice.

in any doubt contact your GP.
