What is the NSPCC Helpline?

The NSPCC Helpline is a supportive service designed to help parents and carers with concerns they may have about a child’s well-being.

  • Worried about a parent or child’s mental health?

  • Unsure how to keep your child safe online?

  • Got a gut feeling that something isn’t right?

Whether it’s a small worry or a more serious issue, the Helpline is there to listen, offer advice, and provide support.

It's never too soon to speak out if you suspect a child needs help. Whatever the worry, the dedicated NSPCC child protection specialist will look to offer advice, and take any necessary action too.

What to Expect When You Contact the Helpline

What to Expect When You Contact the Helpline

When you contact the Helpline, you’ll be transferred to a child protection specialist.

The specialist will listen to any concerns or worries you have and ask you any questions they might have. This can help them get a better understanding of the information you’re sharing to assess the situation, and make appropriate decisions about next steps.

They will then look to give you advice on what you can do, if possible, or provide you with information on local support services.

No matter the outcome of your contact, the Helpline always encourages you to get in touch again if you need to.
